to participate in

"Denim Day Miami 2009"

We Unite against the sexual assault of girls, women, boys & men. We Stand in Support of Survivors. We break the silence to end sexual Violence!

In 1998, an Italian Supreme Court decision overturned a rape conviction because the victim wore jeans, reasoning she must have helped her attacker remove them. People all over the world were outraged. Wearing jeans became an international symbol of protest against the erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.

FCS is proud to present the 1rst Annual Denim Day in  Miami 2009 This campaign is aimed to raise awareness, educate the public and as a visible means of advocacy  against  the  myths  that  surround  rape and sexual assault. The month of  April  is  Sexual  Assault  Awareness and Child Abuse Awareness month.  A $5 donation will  earn you a ticket to wear jeans to work. All proceeds may be matched by your company and donated to FCS.

  HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

To have your organization participate in Denim Day, Please contact Grace Carricarte at 305-740-8998 Ext.137 or email at gcarricarte@familycounseling.org.
